Xstrata Mount Isa Mining Expo

The Mount Isa Chamber of Commerce’s Xstrata Mount Isa Mining Expo was created fifteen years ago to highlight and showcase the wealth and quality of the mining industry throughout the North West Minerals Province. Since then, the event has significantly prospered and is now hailed as the largest eastern annual Mining Expo in Australia, attracting both national and international exhibitors to the city for three days in April – April 13th, 14th & 15th in 2010.

The primary purpose of the Xstrata Mount Isa Mining Expo is to offer exhibitors the opportunity to showcase their product to key target audiences consisting of Managers, Purchasing Officers, Suppliers, Business owners and end users within the mining industry. In addition however, the Mount Isa Chamber of Commerce has identified an opportunity to further network industry personnel during these three days and have since developed unique and entertaining networking events that provide exhibitors with the opportunity to further business leads in a more informal environment.

The Xstrata Mount Isa Mining Expo also prides itself on the quality of the ‘Meet the Buyer’ Sessions that give exhibitors twenty minutes to promote their products and services to senior purchasing officers. 28 Purchasing officers from Xstrata Copper, Xstrata Zinc, BHP Billiton and Oz Minerals contributed to nearly 300 Meet the Buyer Sessions over the two days of exhibition in 2009, giving interested exhibitors a number of opportunities to promote their organisation and wares.

It is about shattering your expectations. It is about “Breaking Ground in Mining”.
